5 best beauty buys for $5

I asked you lovelies on my Facebook page if you would be interested in seeing a new segment called "5 best beauty buys for $5" and I had an amazing response, so here it is! Thinking of making this a monthly post, and maybe even doing 10 for $10, what do you think?

I am a firm believer that good beauty products don't always have to cost a fortune. Some of my favorite beauty staples are those I don't have to justify buying. As always I would never recommend a product to you I haven't tried and loved myself.

I swear by these things. I have gotten many friends and even my boyfriend hooked on them. While I do love make-up cloths like this and buy many different brands, these are the ones I use every single day! Perfect for using at night and morning, and getting off even waterproof mascara.

If you follow this blog at all you know how obsessed I am with this EOS balm. There is so much to love; the cute little shape, USDA Organic, the perfect consistency, affordable, and nourishing!

Remember the satisfaction of peeling dried glue off your hands in kindergarten? (don't even try and act like you didn't do this) Well this mask is like that, but for your face! Lots of masks dry my skin out but this one is super gentle. I love the way my skin feels after I use it!

This product has cult following in the beauty community, no really. It's crazy affordable, provides perfect multi-dimensional color for your face, and comes in an array of pallets! Your skin naturally has many colors and tones to it, so these kind of pallets create a more natural look. So soft too!

I got this brush in my Studio brush collection and I can't stop using it! I use it after my foundation brush to buff and blend, for my bronzer, my airbrush foundation, and so much more. With a price tag of only $3 you can't afford not to own this brush! Not to mention I use this over my Sephora brushes!

So what do you lovelies think? More posts like this? Want to see 10 for $10?

little loves

I am honestly quite a bore I tell you. I really kept it low key this week with work, blogging, and catching up on some odds and ends. Me and a few other blogger friends are working on an event for all of you lovelies (yes YOU) and it's nice to see the pieces start to fall into place. I of course squeezed in a little shopping, and have decided that in between fashion haul vlogs (which will be filmed whenever I have a good amount to show) I will post my purchases on my Facebook page, and possibly Twitter. I'm a great deal less active on Twitter, so Facebook is a more reliable source. Starting Monday I will post pictures of my newest purchases and where you can get them, so if you're interested follow along!

The adorable cupcake above is actually from last week and I forgot to include it!
It was delicious Chai cupcake from a little place called Blake's Cafe + Cupcakery.

Sunday night is always date night and it's a little tradition I adore. Sometimes it's pj's and Chipotle in,
and sometimes it's polka dats, red lips, and dinner out. This was one of those nights.

Date nights also always consist of dessert. One of my favorite treats (that I only like when I get to make myself) is a classic Root Beer Float. It was wonderful, except for the fact that we accidentally got DIET, bleh! Either way it was quite tasty!

This pin started circling Pinterest this week and I can not find it's original source. Though all the instructions are right below the pin, so that is handy. These are breakfast cookies! And what makes them even better than cookies for breakfast (coooo-kie crisp, flashback) is that there is no flour, sugar, or dairy added! Just a bunch of awesome ingredients like oats, banana, raisins, and TA-DA! I am making these this week, and planning to freeze a bunch too!

Got my March Julep maven box this week too! I feel "eh" about the colors but really excited about the Argan oil that was in it. Post to follow with more details!

And last but not least, is a big Happy Birthday to one of my four best friends, Lindsay! Sadly she lives in NY and I didn't have the opportunity to go celebrate with her but I have been sending her my wishes all weekend! Love you Linds!

One of my favorite times to be rep is when the spring items start coming out because they are always so amazing! I'm really excited about some of the awesome pieces MARK is putting out that I just had to share!

This is from the winter collection but I'm still just in love with it! How great is this moto jacket?!
I love the surprise of the sheer chiffon back.

This bag just came out recently and I am obsessed! Not only is it designed by Rebecca Minkoff herself, but it's totally amazing! Watch the video below to see Rebecca Minkoff talk about her MARK collaboration.

WATCH - BLAZER - SHOES

When I saw this menswear inspired watch I freaked out! I have a rose-gold MK watch that is very similar, but sometimes I wish I had a classic gold one and this one is perfect! I am also loving the cream blazer, because I am a total blazer junkie!

february birchbox

For those of you who are unfamiliar with what Birchbox is check out my entry BB post HERE. Now some of you might think I am posting this a bit late, but I like to try out my products for a while and let you lovelies know my thoughts on them. (If you want to see right away the BB spoilers to compare against yours, check out Two Chix Beauty Fix Spoilers they post every month!) Would I purchase them, was I happy with them, was I unhappy with them? Especially since these are deluxe samples I think it's important to let my readers know if I think they are worth the big bucks. So without further ado...

In my specific Birchbox I received the following products:
Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint
Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Serum
Dermalogica Daily Mircofoliant
Eye Rock Designer Liner
Supersmile Powdered Mouthrinse

I was once again extremely happy with my BB this month. This is only my second box but a year subscription is already made it's way onto my Birthday Wish List pin board

I have a tie for my favorite product this month between the Dermalogica Microfoliant and the Juice Beauty Blemish Serum.

I had heard a lot about the Dermalogica brand before BB and was excited to try it out. The sample it quite a nice size considering it's about a third of the full size version that runs for $50. I have been keeping this in my shower and using it daily before my Clarisonic. It starts as a powder that quickly becomes a paste like mixture with water. It's hard to believe it's exfoliating because it is incredibly gentle but after you finish your skin it's as soft as a baby's bum! I will most likely be purchasing this when my sample runs out.

I'm pretty sure I got the Juice Beauty Serum because in my profile I select acne as a concern and also for special interests I selected "I'm interested in anything natural and organic". Since using my Clarisonic my acne has cleared up about 99% but of course I still get a few specks and spots. Before I got this BB I was just wishing I had a spot treatment that was gentle on my skin. When I use my spot treatment from before my Clarisonic, it is just a bit too harsh. So when I got this serum I was really excited! Besides being Organic, this can be used as spot treatment or all over your face. What's even more amazing it helps to fade scarring too. I'm sold and already ordered this! AMAZING!

The Jouer was a brand that was new to me last month in my BB with the lip gloss they sent but I was happy with the quality of last months so I knew this product would probably be the same. Although I would probably never leave the house without full foundation on, I figured I might as well give it a try. The coverage was pretty nice, and a bit fuller than I expected for a tint; definitely awesome for anyone who is less self conscious of thier skin and just wants to add some glow and even out skin tone. I won't be buying simply because it doesn't offer enough coverage for me.

The eye rock was my "EH" product. While the perfectly matched temporary tattoo's are an awesome idea, I don't really have much use for them in my everyday. Even for nights out I could only ever see myself trying out the smallest line. I have yet to try them but they have gotten some great reviews thus far. For anyone who is big on eyeliner or a cat-eye this would be awesome. Would you try these?

The Supersmile powdered mouth rinse was this months "lifestyle extra" and it's definitely a great idea! I haven't tried mine out yet but I already threw them in my "everyday emergency kit" I always carry in my purse (don't worry VLOG on that coming soon). They take up virtually no room and are an awesome product to have on hand.

On a side note: another cool little thing was on my Dermalogica Box there was a donation from BB + Dermalogica for the company joinFite (which helps women start or grow their own business). All you had to do was scan the QR code or log online and the donation was activated. You could pick what part of the world you wanted your donation to go to and what type of business. Then a few days later you receive an e-mail about the woman and business your donation went to. I thought it was great!

Are you a BB subscriber? Want to join the fun?

xoxo

little loves

Another little loves where I have to catch up on two weeks! Last week I filmed a new vlog, had date night, and went to see the bf's band play again. The night of the show, by pure happen-stance I got to see my 3 best friends (one was in town from NY) AND my 3 best blogger friends (one was in town from NY too!). That made my whole week!

I got these amazing jeans from Target and got quite a few stares, but I don't care cause I'm obsessed!
Can't wait till it warms up and I can style them a bit more.

It's tradition when the 4 of us (myself and my 3 best friends) are home to grab bagels before one of us leaves again.
It's always too early and too short but I love it and I love them.

Last week I ordered the most adorable nerd glasses. They should be here by Monday, I can not wait!!
Do you own a pair of fashion specs?

This week it was much of the same; work, date nights, and blogging. I edited the vlog I filmed last week, and it is all set to go live this week! On tuesday I got to go se the bf's band again for their annual Fat Tuesday gig at Russo's. One of the places me and Steven (bf) always talk about going is New Orleans, him for the music and I for the food. I'm not sure where my obsession for Cafe Du Monde beignets started but I got to have my first taste of them on Tuesday!
They were doughy, fried, covered in sugar, and heaven! Not to mention I had my most
favorite food ever before this, fried green tomatoes!

I ended my week with this adorable little baby who decided to make his bed right on top of my clean clothes.
I couldn't say no to him so I let him stay for a while.

Hope you lovelies had a great week! What was the best thing you did this week?!
